Luis Franco, new winner of the prize Txema Elorza

About 250 members of the sector and his companions applauded the finalists and the winner, Luis Franco, President of Industrial meeting. Excited received the prize, a sculpture in bronze and stone of José Ramón Casas, from the hands of Jordi Pujol, who was also of two lithographs by Eduardo Chillida delivers the two finalists.
The nominees for the prize 'Txema Elorza professional and human values in the hardware and DIY sector' in this fourth edition was Miguel Ortiz, President of hardware Ortiz, and Carlos Perez Padrón, President of Eurolatón, all they recognized professional success and outstanding people to human level.
The winner, Luis Franco
Luis Franco, Valencia, studied education and philosophy at the seminary in Barcelona. At the age of 17 he decided to change his life, came out of the seminar and was placed as a representative of hardware store products with an uncle. The years after he became one of the best commercial agents of the sector. At the end of the 1970s, is associated with another Valencian representative, Jorge Micó, riding the more powerful House of representations of the Valencian Community. In 1985 they decided to create meeting Industrial, REI, and mounted a small factory in Rafelbuñol. Today, REI is a very prominent in the manufacture of handles, provides 8,500 square meters, directly employs more than 100 people and exports 80% of its production to 45 countries around the world.
(Ii) grant of studies George Cross
The George Cross studies scholarship, which is part of the assistance actions of the Foundation Txema Elorza, is granted annually and aims to raise the level of excellence of professionals in the sector of the hardware and DIY. With an endowment of $ 3,000, its sponsor, SNA Europe, unveiled the name of the winner, the student Mikel Aristi López, during the gala.
The fraternisation day passed with a guided tour to the roof of the Cathedral of Santiago and a typical city, courtesy of Brico King and Universal Barbosa-organized activities.
In a year marked by a strong crisis - which also being punished for this sector – this event was aimed at bringing together the most relevant members and highlight the values of work, perseverance, innovation and good work with the sector facing these difficult times and that rewards its most important representatives.
