10 Percent of the Windows that are manufactured in Spain is PVC
on July 26, 2004
It is interesting to note how this situation is far from the European, where the market is led by the PVC (39.4 per cent of the production), which was imposed in all Europe except in the countries of the South, which is predominantly aluminum. This latter material will be made only with 27.1 per cent of European Windows, a figure similar to the timber, elected to the European Windows 29.2.
In 2004, the PVC will experience a growth of 9.4 per cent, with increases of 6.7 per cent in mixed (wood - aluminium), from 0.2 per cent in aluminum or, even, a decline of 2.3 per cent in wood.
Spain ranks second in Europe in regards to the manufacture of Windows, behind Germany. More than 10 percent of European Windows, including the 25 countries of the EU, Norway and Switzerland, manufactured in our country.
The sector of the Windows, according to data from Asefave (Spanish Association of manufacturers of Windows and facades light) is being benefited by the good situation of the building, whose production in 2003 amounted to 131,300 million euros. While more than 40 per cent of this figure corresponds to construction materials, 8 per cent of the same, i.e., EUR 4 billion, accounted for Windows and glass doors.
