The great living room industry and gastronomy to win international projection
Until 50 stars Michelin will gather Alimentary 2014 in an innovative show gastronomic
Between 31 March and on 3 April,
The living room adds again the exporting potential of the industry agroalimentaria -represented in the more than 3.800 companies participants- with the international recognition of our high gastronomy. Therefore, unlike other contests, will include an ambitious program of activities that has presented today in the Market of Santa Caterina of Barcelona, in an act that has gathered to chefs and professionals of the sector of the catering.
Treats , as it has explained the director of Alimentary, J. Antoni Valls, to “project, in front of the thousands of foreign buyers that attend to the fair, the quality and wealth of our products and the big power of our gastronomy, recognised already to world-wide level”. In the same sense, the president of Alimentary and of Fira of Barcelona, Josep Lluís Bonet, has ensured that the living room “promotes the alliance between feeding, tourism and gastronomy, a trinomial with a big potential of conjoint growth that it has to be engine of recovery of our economy”.
In fact, the three sectors suppose 25% of the Spanish GDP and employ to more than 3 million people, according to data of the Federation of Industries of Feeding and Drunk (Fiab).
gastronomic activities
The big novelty of this edition is The Alimentary Experience, an innovative gastronomic area that will gather to 50 chefs that add more than 50 stars Michelin. Between them, Joan Rock, Juan Mari Arzak, Quique Dacosta, Pedro Subijana, Carme Ruscalleda and Paco Pérez.
The visitor will enjoy of an only gastronomic experience: see cook to some of the best chefs of the world in a space for groups of 18 people, taste his creations and participate in an interactive workshop.
One of his stellar moments will be the Showcooking 10 stars, where Paco Pérez, Dani García, Nacho Manzano, Paco Roncero and Ramon Freixa (2* Michelin each one) will cook of simultaneous form.
Vinorum, Are of wine
In this space of tasting will be able to taste the 50 wines more rompedores of the moment: innovative stocks, frescos, alternative and affordable (p.v.p. Inferior to 10 euros), thought to connect with new consumers. A committee formed by enólogos, distributors, owners of on-line businesses and bloggers has selected the 50 Rompedores, a list with wines of all Spain although the Denominations of Origin more represented are the ones of Rueda, Penedés and Wines of Tierra Castilla León.
Toast with distilled
Alimentary premières this year the space Cocktail & Spirits with the last novelties and tendencies in distilled and coctelería. It will include demonstrations of prestigious bartenders, tastings guided and workshops on the combined classical, the creations more rompedoras, or the fashion of the gintonic, between other proposals. More than 1.000 square metres of the living room Intervin to give greater visibility to the drunk espirituosas and propiciar the meeting between marks, bartenders, skilled buyers and other professionals of the channel horeca. Between the stars of the Cocktail&Spirits, stand out Christian Delpech (19 times world-wide champion of coctelería acrobatic) and Pedro García Rascon (champion of Spain of flairtending 2013).
The best extra virgins
In the Bar of Oils of Oliva Gourmet of the Olivary living room will be able to taste a hundred of the best extra virgins of the country. Besides, it will show the fast evolution and the degree of maturity that is reaching the segment of the AOVE gourmet in our country. Companies like Masia The Altet, Oleoestepa, Agrolés, The Boella or Houses of Hualdo will present three or more distinct oils. Also there will be oils of author, productions numbered with presentations of luxury, and ecological oils as 'Gold of the Desert' or 'Melgarejo Original', between many others.
Compendium quesero
Under the title of 'Compendium', the exhibition 'Spain, the Country of the 100 Cheeses' will do a review by the production quesera Spaniard of the last 20 years. Between the jewels selected finds a manchego handmade and big better chosen reservation cheese of the world 2012 and the winners of the prize 'Foods of Spain to the Best Cheese 2013'. This space of tasting, situated in the living room Interlact, celebrates this year his tenth edition.
Dual year Spain-Japan
The Japanese gastronomy also will be one of the protagonists of Alimentary with reason of the Year Spain-Japan, that commemorates the 400 years of relations between both countries. It stands out the debate on Mediterranean and Japanese kitchen with Carme Ruscalleda (with restaurant in Tokyo) and Keisuke Matsushima (with star Michelin in France). Also there will be workshops on Japanese products like sake, tofu, seaweeds or miso.
On Alimentary 2014
Alimentary, one of the living rooms of feeding and beverages more important of the world, will go back to gather more than 3.800 companies of the sector. Of 31 March to 3 April, it will convert Barcelona in the capital of the feeding and the gastronomy, with 14 living rooms sectorizados, 95.000m2 and 140.000 visitors of more than 140 countries. The export, the innovation and the new tendencies in feeding will go back to be the axles of the living room.
