February 17, 2010
Rhenus Logistics has started to operate a hotline that connects Galicia with the Canary Islands with the new year 2010. With weekly departures of groupage and full load goods connects via maritime Vigo with Gran Canaria and Tenerife. "Our intent is to continue with the policy of attention to the needs of our customers and be more competitive from the northeast of the peninsula," explains Javier Revilla. For this reason, has had the experience and capabilities of Rhenus Logistics in the Canary Islands and the peninsula, to which must be added the collaboration of the Galician company Atlantic International Forwarding, S.A. (of the Group Altrans), which participates in this new service. "With this new service - says Revilla - we shorten our transit time and facilitate the collection and delivery from anywhere in the peninsular North through our own logistical centres." Together with the maritime groupage and full containers, the new line of Rhenus Logistics between Galicia and the Canary Islands also offers air service managed by facilities in Madrid.
Ports operating with this new line in Galicia are the Vigo and also the Marín, from which three prestigious shipping work with destination Canary with departures Friday, Saturday or Sunday, depending on origin and shipping company.
This new route joins the investment and effort made in recent years by Rhenus Logistics in the Canary Islands, in where a new logistics facility from 10,000 square metres in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is operating since last summer.
