Sil 2009 welcomes the draft ' Invest in Med'

The international logistics and maintenance (Sil) is the meeting point of all the logistics activity in the South of Europe, the basin of the Mediterranean (particularly the countries of the Maghreb), Latin America and Southeast Asia.
The Sil is organised by the Consorci de the Franca area of Barcelona, whose main activity is focused on promote and promote leading projects within the real estate and logistics sector. In the framework of an intensive process of globalisation which is creating a greater interdependence among countries, the transport and logistics sector has become a key factor of competitiveness in international trade andin general, of all economies. In this context, the permanent innovation is a key factor that makes the difference between competitors. This fact leads to partnerships between the countries of the European Union and the Euro-Mediterranean region to pursue a sustainable cooperation in the field of logistics and transport.
With this premise the Chamber of Commerce, industry and navigation of Barcelona, in collaboration with Acc1ó / Copca, promoting this project which will take place in the 2009 Sil. The "Invest in Med' is an ambitious programme of EUR 12 million - 9 million euros are provided by the European Commission and the EUR 3 million remaining for the members of the Consortium and its sponsors — which contemplates, between 2008 and 2011, approximately 200 meetings to be held in the different countries comprising the Euro-Mediterranean region. These meetings take place in BtoB meetings, representative of industry conferences, trade missions of Exchange, etc.
The recent appointment of Barcelona as the seat of the Permanent Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UPM) and the celebration of the ' Invest in Med' strengthens the commitment of the Sil that reaffirms clearly as the international logistics and maintenance reference of southern Europe and the Mediterranean arc.
Algeria, guest country of the Mediterranean Forum 7th of logistics and transport
The seventh edition of the Mediterranean Forum of logistics and transport will have to Algeria as guest country. This country, has now positioned itself as a major gateway to the African continent. In addition, the expected support of the European Union to promote the development of Algeria in the sectors related to the maritime, land transport, rail and inland and maritime transport for short distances, they consolidate the economic attractiveness of the areawith which Spain, for some years, intensive commercial relations.
