Art, Utecsa, and Elan moulds present their experience with WorkPLAN
Christian Liepert, responsible for sales of Sescoi Iberia WorkPLAN, presented main available modules (offers, production, registration times, purchasing, planning, communication, quality, etc.) and the methodology of implementation by modules that allows to implement WorkPLAN based on the needs of each company. This methodology has been developed by Sescoi Iberia staff exclusively for the Spanish market. The results show that this methodology ensures a return on investment in the short term. Finally, Liepert mentioned that the methodology allows to maintain a high degree of motivation in the staff of the enterprise which is implementing WorkPLAN because of the advantages they provide in their occupational activities, optimize their processes.
For its part, Julià Carnicé, Deputy director of the art company, explained that in your company they already had a management software developed to measure. However, he added that WorkPLAN provides them new advanced features and assured them the assistance of an international group as Sescoi. Since the first time that art considered WorkPLAN acknowledged it suited perfectly to your needs as a moldista. The WorkPLAN implementation process has required effort and dedication by art, but the benefits clearly outweigh that effort. Art has benefited from the service provided by Sescoi to migrate to WorkPLAN historical data generated by the Catalan company in the last 10 years. It also stressed the assistance of professionals from Sescoi Iberia in the integration of WorkPLAN with a system of luminous indicators that was previously installed in the workshop showing the progress of work in every machine.
Among the profits after implement WorkPLAN, Carles baths, director financial and purchases of the company Utecsa, was: a better follow-up of the workshop (times, planning, etc.), knowledge to the detail of the real costs (time, materials, purchasing, subcontracting, quality problems)(, etc.), information for decision-making, information centralized in a database, automation of processes (remove duplication) and reduction of time in unproductive work (search for information, etc.). Utecsa considers the module of planning as a key element to stay competitive and to guarantee a good service to the client (deadlines realistic, resolve capacity problems proactively, reducing time limits for delivery, etc.)
Manuel Velasco, Manager of the company Elan moulds, stressed that their investment in software management as WorkPLAN focused mainly on maintain and increase its competitive level in a market in which customers each day are more demanding. He commented that the only chance of staying competitive was optimizing the work of the 17 employees that make up the template of the company. He expressed that WorkPLAN is perfectly suited to your company based on its size, a part of the average for the sector which currently is approximately 15 employees. He also mentioned that the integration of the software and the ISO was fundamental in the optimization of their internal processes. This integration eliminates much paper and above all to reduce the effort required to manage the ISO.
During questions are commented that there is a certain minimum size to be able to implement an ERP system, but that it is more important for the motivation and involvement of the company. Sescoi Iberia even mentioned that it has a client that uses the software with only eight employees in total.
Another question referred to the level of detail recommended to make deals with WorkPLAN. The three companies commented that mostly choose to make General offers that include only the services offered, assigning hours provided for at a cost per hour. They added that in very specific cases they made an offer detailed with the development of an ante-proyecto.
Also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the system of capture of times through touch screens, option chosen by art, against bar code readers, option chosen by Utecsa.
In the second part of the seminar, Miquel Ferrero, Director of Calidad of the Fundació Ascamm, explained the large number of matching points between the requirements laid down by the ISO 9000: 2000 quality standard and the features included in the WorkPLAN. That is why companies that do not have an ERP or ISO certification can obtain enormous savings of time if they simultaneously perform implementation WorkPLAN and ISO 9000: 2000 certification.
The general opinion of entrepreneurs was founded on the need to optimize internal processes and introduce a system of quality as the ISO to maintain and increase the competitive level of the sector of the mould and the matrix.
