Atlas Copco certifies all their technologies of oil free compressors according to the new standard ISO 8573-1 2010
All Atlas Copco oil-free air technologies have been certified according to the new standard. This certification includes its centrifugal compressors, nail, scroll, piston, screw with injection of water and pistón-tornillo of four stages, as well as its series portable rental compressors P. These compressors supplied 100% oil-free compressed air for the textile, food, industrial, mining, marine platforms and electronic (including the manufacture of semiconductors and clean rooms) as well as the manufacture of pharmaceutical, chemical and cosmetic products, plants of automotive paint spraying, water treatment in municipalities and critical medical applications in hospitals.
The first edition of the standard ISO 8573-1 represented the first step in 1991 to recognize the importance of the quality of the air and classify the air in accordance with the levels of three pollutants: oil, water and dust. The evolution of the standard over time has been to reflect the growing needs of the air quality processes and sensitive end products, such as food and pharmaceutical products. The second edition of the standard, published in 2001, included the classification 0 class on oil content. Atlas Copco was the first manufacturer to obtain the certification class 0 in 2006 the Institute Technische Überwachungs-Verein (TÜV), who found no presence of oil in compressed air supplied by the Z series of oil free Rotary screw compressors. The same happened in 2007 with other technologies free of oil (centrifugal compressors, nail, scroll, piston and screw with water injection), thus confirming the company's leadership over the entire range of 300 mBar to 40 bar pressure. Issue 2 (2001) of ISO 8573-1 was revised in 2010 to reflect the change in content of powder, giving rise to the new standard, ISO-8573-1 Ed. 3 (2010).
"The certification according to the latest 2010 edition of this standard is the testimony of our commitment to oil-free technology and the security of processes, human beings and the environment", says Chris LybaertPresident of the Division Oil-free of Atlas Copco.
Certificates on the content of the current ranges of compressor Atlas Copco oil have been issued by the independent Institute Technische Überwachungs-Verein (Association for technical inspection, or TÜV), according to the methods of measurement and test more stringent. These methods confirm that it is not able to detect any trace of oil.
According to Huang, ETNSE Manager of L' Oréal Suzhou, "choose Atlas Copco because the Z class 0 range adapted to our rigorous standards of manufacture and has contributed to our certifications ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18000." As an additional advantage, have managed to reduce the consumption of energy in the room of compressors in a 20% "." The plant received the prize EFE (Environment Friendly Enterprise, or respectful company with the environment), which is the highest award in the field of protection of the environment of Jiangsu Province in 2008.
