The UPC turns into the first Spanish university that receives the certification ISO 20000
13 January 2010
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) has received the Aenor quality ISO 20000 certification services e-learning and electronic mail to the University community, both offered by the ICT service company corporate UPCnet. Thus, the UPC became the first University to receive this certification.
Eva Subirà, delegated in Catalonia of the Spanish Association for standardisation and certification (Aenor), delivered on 12 January this quality certification to Joshua Sallent, director-general of the society of the information of the Department of the Interior and public administration and Carlos Balot, CEO of UPCnet.
The standard UNE-ISO/IEC 20000 is the first international standard of common reference to organizations that provide or manage services of information technology and communication technology (ICT). Thus, it helps organizations to organize the main activities required to manage these services, grouped into a set of processes that are essential for the creation, delivery and the evolution of ICT services.
