AMB is celebrated for the first time in the new Stuttgart trade fair
The fair will be held for the first time on the grounds of the new Stuttgart trade fair next to Stuttgart Airport. Thus, exhibitors and visitors have at last an exhibition space, which marks new guidelines in terms of equipment and logistics of traffic at European level and the prosperous commercial region of Stuttgart. The new campus has 105,200 square metres gross exhibition area, distributed in seven standard halls, a large Pavilion, as well as a pavilion in the ICS Center Conference in Stuttgart. The new Stuttgart trade fair impresses with its functionality and aesthetics, for its clear watermark, luminous architecture. On the occasion of their official opening last October managed to attract and convince 180,000 visitors.
Expect more than 1,100 exhibitors from 25 different countries. They display innovations, new developments, accessories and services for all sectors of the machining and processing of metals. A major success, from whose effects benefits the AMB already for 20 years. The old Fairgrounds was too small and held back any additional growth.
Technology fair for solutions to problems: the AMB 2008 match users with the manufacturers
Before this economic background, the AMB 2008 enjoys a truly fertile soil. In Stuttgart, the user is certainly a solution to your problem of manufacturing. Today many times day already not sold only the machine or installation, but throughout the entire process. The client brings her piece and expected a solution to economic production. With that in the AMB 2008 you don't have any problem. A percentage of participation of manufacturers of 85 per cent, the user is at AMB 2008 a competent contact persons for almost all the demands of manufacturing. Traditionally the most represented are manufacturers of machine tools for machining with boot and detachment of chips, which make up about 28 percent of all exhibitors. Nearby are the manufacturers of precision with 27 percent of all exhibitors tools. The software industry which has been extended by the integration of the CAT.PRO, still represents a 5 per cent. On the other hand, exhibitors show in addition products and machines in the sectors of the assurance of quality, robots, technique of manipulation of parts and tools, computer and peripheral systems, components, accessories and construction groups.
Foreign companies
The foreign share of the participating companies is less than 20 per cent. Including Germany, 21 different countries are represented in time. Traditionally Switzerland tops the list for the participation of foreign countries with currently 74 companies, followed by Italy with 21 companies. In the following posts are Japan, USA, Austria and France. The surface occupied by foreign exhibitors has grown compared to the AMB 2006 by 127 per cent, which means more than twice.
Advantages of the new enclosure
In the new campus now can be finally a thematic planning of wards, which in the past was impossible for technical reasons of construction because some wards were still sotar, so heavy machinery could not be exposed. Halls 1 and 2 are reserved for precision tools; the Pavilion 4 contains software and engineering, devices command and additional equipment or accessories; in the Pavilion 6 are located the saws, drilling and cutting gear machines; the Pavilion 8 belongs to the grinders and desbarbadoras and 9, 7, 5 and 3 flags are reserved for lathes and milling machines and machining (distribution of the pavilions clockwise) centres.
Expect some 60,000 visitors both inside the country and abroad, especially from neighbouring countries including Switzerland, Italy, France and Austria but also of Europe from the East and countries across the Atlantic. Group recipient of visitors of the AMB 2008 belongs to the technician that works directly with the machine, both the Steering from the direction of the company, directors, production planners, industrial technical, master directors as well as all the employees of manufacturing of the classic consumer sectors of machining and processing of metals, especially in the engineering sector of machines and installations, EBM industry, automotive and supply industry, electrical industry and the construction of moulds.
Reduction of manufacturing costs
A very important issue for users remains the reduction of manufacturing costs, combined with an increase in flexibility at the same time in manufacturing. Machine tools manufacturers meet this requirement with modular construction solutions and easy expansion possibilities. They offer a practical and reasonable automation for each individual case of application and allow a rapid reaction to the different demands of the market with these modular systems. The so far, there is also still a high demand for the complete machining with a single subject.
In technologies with chip startup processes which are able to operate with much lower amounts of coolant lubricant or can even dispense with completely from it being imposed. A reduction potential of costs not so insignificant, because thus eliminates costly disposal of wastes of cooling lubricants. In the sector of technologies with chip startup both the separation, the tendency leans towards a higher cutting speeds, where almost already not there is no difference with the machining at high speed (HSC)(, High Speed Cutting).
What's new
In addition to the exhibition program, the AMB also offers to its visitors a program framework tailored to the needs with special exhibitions and conferences under the direction of well-known and important research institutes and rapporteurs and demanding very qualified in the fields of research and industry.
Only the which meets the latest technical trends and their possible applications will be able to reduce the manufacturing costs in the long term. The framework programme varied and geared to users of the AMB 2008 trafficking in almost all the problems of manufacture of the machining and processing of metals and offers different ways to solve.
In contribution to the topic HSC, the Institute for management of production, technology and machines the Technical University of Darmstadt (PTW) tool offers an extensive special exhibition with 540 square metres under the title 'The boot of chips of the future' on the occasion of the 2008 AMB. There are 25 innovative companies in the technology sector from boot of shavings in a common stand that shows its contents of research and current developments in the sectors of boot of shavings, components of machine tools in Hall 5technical control, machine tools and CAD/CAM process chain. For the first time you are offered a large space to the theme of energy efficiency in the production. The framework of the exhibition is a presentation on the HSC subject on Friday, September 12, 2008.
Processes for production tools and technologies are the focus of the Symposium of the technique of manufacture of the University of Stuttgart. The Institute of machine-tools of the Uni Stuttgart presents under the direction of Uwe Heisel, the 10 and September 11, 2008 during their traditional scientific symposium the latest trends and results. The focus of interest will focus on the interaction between machine tools and robots, the implementation of the simulation in real-time for optimisation of machine tools, versatile factories and machine tool reconfigurable, that allow to respond in a few hours to the demands.
The theme 'Youth and training' receives in the AMB a platform even larger of which had in itself, since specialized technicians and skilled engineers are scarce in the labour market. Many companies have problems finding new employees appropriate for their planned hirings. Already for years, the VDMA (German Association for the construction of machinery and installations) works in his propaganda to attract young people with their training 'think-ing' initiative... Thus, the largest industry association in Europe wants to get greater enthusiasm for technical formations and awaken the interest in studying engineering courses. The 'think-ing' project invites both the boys and girls, which imminently will have to choose their future vocational training, as to their teachers, on the occasion of the AMB 2008, so that they can do with an idea of the possibilities of career in the technical professions.
But not only are missing also engineers, specialized technicians are very requested. For this reason is held already for the fourth time the 'Turner of the year' contest, initiated by the technical magazine 'Manufacturing' (Fertigung). The Messe Stuttgart supports this campaign. Each year, a different manufacturer offers a machine of the contest. The aim of the competition is to promote the profession of the Turner and let people get an idea of the profile of this profession so interesting and demanding.
In addition is carried out, under the direction of the VDW (German machine tool manufacturers association) the ' special exhibition youth ', which presents several companies known as DMG, Hermle and Index, allowing this time take a look at the practice of every day.
There will also be the special exhibition 'Medical technology, a market in growth for Metalworkers'. The manufacture of medical products gaining more relevance for the machining and metal processing industry. Baden-Württemberg is one of the leading places in the area of medical technology in Germany, the WBA is offered as a platform for these products.
