A plant of waste treatment water saves 31% of power with a soplante of Atlas Copco

Until 70% of the power that consumes a plant of waste treatment water devotes to the aireación to low pressesure of the water, by what the saving realised in this phase of the process is of great importance. The soplantes of screw ZS of Atlas Copco are, by half term, 30% more efficient in energetic terms that the soplantes of lobules. The independent proofs realised by TÜV and WWTP in Scandinavia have confirmed these results.
Atlas Copco supplied to Skanderborg WWTP a new soplante with accionamiento of variable speed of 55 kW, that works to 0,7 bar(and), to substitute to a soplante of lobules of 75 kW in one of the lines of process of aireación.
“Choose to Atlas Copco like provider of our new soplante because they showed us that we could attain a saving of power of 30% compared with our ancient soplante of lobules” affirms Ivan Andersen of Skanderborg WWTP.
In Skanderborg celebrates annually in August the traditional Festival of Summer. This is the period of the year with elder loads of work for Skanderborg WWTP and when the soplantes work to maximum capacity. During the festival, Skanderborg WWTP realised a proof to compare the energetic consumption of two lines of process of aireación identical.
Both lines are instrumented with two soplantes: one with accionamiento of variable speed and another of fixed speed. The system is programmed so that the soplantes with accionamiento of variable speed act like soplantes primary and the soplantes of fixed speed take part when it increases the demand.
“With this have attained a big saving of power and calculate a term of amortización of the soplante ZS of so alone 16 months. It worked ininterrumpidamente during the Festival of Summer of Skanderborg without any problem and is much more silent that the ancient soplante of lobules”, concludes.
