Atlas Copco receives a big request for a project of natural gas liquefied
The request, by an approximate value of 17 MUSD (116 MSEK) was cursado by JKC Australia LNG in the second quarter and comprises turboexpansores and compressesors of air. The delivery of the machines is foreseen for the third quarter of 2013.
The gas of the yacimiento Ichthys, in the basin Browse, to some 200 kilometres of the coast of Western Australia, will subject to a preliminary treatment on the high seas to delete the water and extract the condensed. The gas will transport afterwards to the installations of process in earth situated in Darwin, Australia, through an underwater pipe of 890 km. It expects that the project produce 8,4 million tonnes of natural gas liquefied and 1,6 million tonnes of gas liquefied of the oil (GLP) by year.
The turboexpansores of Atlas Copco will use for the treatment of the gas, whereas the compressesors of air of three stages will produce air of instrumentation for the terrestrial plant.
“The important knowledges and references on GNL that possesses Atlas Copco, together with our capacity to fulfil the precise and rigorous specifications of this project, served of help to obtain the request”, affirms Stephan Kuhn, president of the area of Technical business in Power Compressesed.
Responsible of the engineering, acquisition of team and construction of the terrestrial installations, the joint venture JKC Australia LNG is formed by JGC Corporation, KBR and Chiyoda Corporation.
