Tetra Pak, Nestle and Braskem presented a container with a stopper made from renewable raw materials

This is a plug of polyethylene that the Nestlé company Brazil, in partnership with Tetra Pak and Braskem has incorporated two of their most popular brands of milk packaged in Tetra Pak Aseptic: Ninho and Molico. New polyethylene, developed by Brazil petrochemical company Braskem, is produced from sugar cane derivatives, polymerized in plastics for the manufacture of the plug.
The process contributes to the overall greenhouse gas reduction as sugarcane, a renewable resource, absorbing the CO² in the atmosphere. The launch represents a milestone in the use of polyethylene from raw 100% renewable packaging of food and beverage industry.
