Pilot plant of Ainia hygiene for the eco-efficiency in cleaning and disinfection
February 16, 2010
The Center technological Ainia has developed the first pilot plant multiprocessing existing in Spain in hygiene of equipment and industrial installations. The plant makes available of the companies in the Valencian Community the infrastructure necessary to assess the eco-efficiency of their cleaning and disinfection processes and investigate them more efficient and sustainable alternatives.
Control and monitoring of the effectiveness of the process of cleaning and disinfection of equipment at the facilities is a key element in ensuring the health, quality and food safety of a food industry. Also, traditional processes of cleaning and disinfection are partners in the agri-food sector important environmental impacts, for which according to the current criteria of sustainability becomes necessary to move forward in the development of new processes to innovate new methods or alternative cleaning agents (ozone)(, ultrasonic, oxidation avanzadas…).
For this reason, Ainia has developed this pilot plant multiprocessing, which will allow the assessment and development of multiple processes of both closed (CIP), cleaning and disinfection of open surfaces cleaning and environmental cleanups. It also allows the design and development of tests to check whether a team or work surface is easily limpiable. Limpiabilidad trials provide evidence as to whether a team or installation has been designed hygienically and thus facilitates the maintenance of optimal hygienic conditions of the production environment.
The construction of the plant, which has lasted over a year and has been designed and built entirely by the technicians at the Centre, has been supported by the Impiva through its programme of aid to the technological institutes.
