Swivel Head: it allows full 360-degree rotations

Picture of Swivel Head
Carl Zeiss head CSC (Continuous Sensor Carrier) reach areas with difficult access and get greater flexibility when making measurements especially in the automotive industry. This sophisticated head is aimed especially at companies that need complex measurements on prototypes or the optimization of processes, especially those aimed at the automotive industry.

Carl Zeiss IMT articulated head DSE has been used standard during the past 20 years. However, it was limited to half rotation, so to move the sensor from a watch position 11 to the 1 o'clock, the DSE was investing almost a full rotation. This situation is removed with the CSC.

With corresponding software modifications, the CBC completes a full rotation in one direction and even performs multiple rotations as needed. The result is that the joint unit can take the shortest route to the following measuring position and don't have to reverse directions as its predecessor. This saves time, increases flexibility, and enables operators to easily measure the body inside.

For the first time, extensions of up to 800 mm tracer, you can use a considerable increase over the 600 available in the past. In addition, has developed a new sensor together with the jointed head. This tracer point does not require electrical connection or compressed air; What makes the tool more reliable and cost effective.

The CSC is also more secure, since if extensions of the sensor or sensors are an obstacle, the three points of bearings will open and shuts off the machine. Once the obstacle has been removed, the arm moves back to its position without the need for a realignment.
