Export in 2011: bad weather, good face

Now that the end of the year is near, I would like to do a review of the results of the activities and the situation of the sector in General. The assessment can be described as positive but the results can always be improved. Generally has perceived that enterprises have been satisfied of their participation in events organized by FAMO with the collaboration of ICEX.

For the first time has been a joint exhibition of Spanish product at Neocon Chicago fair. Also for the first time he has exhibited so grouped at the Milan international furniture fair. What's new with these completed with the launch of a new partnership with press specializing in Germany.

Sub-Saharan Africa through the Organization of commercial missions has also been addressed, and has continued with the strategy begun years ago for a greater share of market in South America. Currently we are preparing our next meeting with ICEX, Spanish Institute of foreign trade. The amounts of aid to the sector for the foreign promotion in 2012 will be negotiated there.

In view of general elections in November and in the framework of the global financial turbulence, we can say that the sector is maintained. There are large uncertainties in so many other areas, but also all hopes for a greater internationalization of the sector.

In 2012 from the Association will continue betting in South America where not resent both the economic crisis, despite the profound social inequalities. We also intend to strengthen our position in the U.S. market and in the area of sub-Saharan Africa. But as a novelty we will also put our sight and efforts in Asia. If last year visited India in trade mission, want to bet this time by the Asian giant par excellence: China.

He is already talk of a stable growth and not disproportionate, Chinese exports of furniture to the rest of the world. This is one more reason to visit China, which begins to be Avid products of quality and design. In order to find niche market for high-end products, we intend to study and bring us into this market of large size and potential.
