Epson reaches the silver category in the sustainability 2011 Yearbook

seiko epson corporation (epson) has been designated leader in sustainability becoming part of the silver category of the "sustainability 2011 Yearbook" posted by SAM on February 28.
The sustainability Yearbook is a report prepared annually by the SAM group, a company of socially responsible investment studies (SRI) world-renowned. This document evaluates annually the potential for sustainable growth of 2,500 companies comprising the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Markets Index, based on more than 100 General and specific criteria in each sector that take into account the economic resultssocial and environmental.
Among the 2,500 participating companies, sustainability 2011 Yearbook collects only 15% of the best classified in each of the 58 industrial sectors. Among the selected, 103 were classified in the Gold category, 92 in the silver category and 77 in the bronze category.
Epson is one of the six sustainability leaders designated in the sector "Electronic office equipment and computer hardware".
After debuting qualifying in the bronze category in the 2008 Yearbook, the Japanese company believes that the recent inclusion in the silver category reaffirms its commitment to corporate governance in line with its philosophy of management.
In the future, Epson will continue developing its programme of Corporate Social responsibility and reinforcing its management initiatives based on trust.
