The President of the AFM, Rafael Barrenechea, highlighted the relevant place of the BIEMH among the fairs of the sector, praised the scene of the BEC and at the same time had a few words of optimism for the sector which, as noted above, builds up during the last three years of difficulties "given that every ten years the sector showing a crisis and the" "companies are investing".
While Barrenechea described as "landmark" this edition during the opening ceremony, the overall figures collected in its closure so certify. The new BEC welcomed 41.562 professionals on a set of about 50,000 prcedentes participants from 54 countries. There are two indicators which credited the evolution of the pageant and is that, both technical and business profile and the relevance of the companies gathered there point to a cualitiativo of the fair jump.
As to the origin of visitors, 40 per cent came from outside of the Basque country. At the international level, countries having greater representation during the six-day of the contest were Portugal, France, Germany and Italy, the main markets recpetores of the Spanish production of the machine tool. The most significant growth, according to data collected by the Organization, were Venezuela and Mexico.
In total, biennial counted with the presence of a total of 1.894 signatures from 34 countries, distributed in 841 stands, figures constituting its most significant progress to date where these parameters are concerned. The sectors with greater representation have been those of machine tool by booting, accessories and tools for machine tool and machine tool by deformation, with a 19 per cent, 17 per cent, 14 per cent and 13 per cent on the set, respectively. The remaining surface has been divided between the areas of metrology and quality control, electrical and electronic equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, services to the workshop and the company, handling and robotics, CAD/CAM/CAE, welding and flame cutting, and other machinesas well as organizations, publications and services.
