MAKROLON facilitates veined plates of 6 layers, now also in new widths

The new veined plates Makrolon multi longlife of 6 layers are presented to the market, with widths of 980 and 1200 mm. In this way, Makroform responds to the strong demand for new plates of high thermal insulation, were available in a standard width of 2,100 millimeters since January of this year. This new product, also in the new format, is offered with thicknesses of 16 and 20 mm, opal and white.

The veined plates of 6 layers of polycarbonate Makrolon, joint venture between Bayer AG and Röhm GmbH & Co. KG for the manufacture of polycarbonate and polyester plates, convinced, above all, for its calorífugas properties, a high capacity of folding in cold weather and a good resistance to impact. Especially in the energy sector, estimated energy savings of up to 25% in comparison with standard plates of similar thickness. This represents an annual savings of 5 litres of fuel oil (fuel) per square meter or 5 cubic meters of natural gas. Also the relation price performance can be seen, as evidenced by the high sales figures.

Due to its weight low, the plates can be placed easily on large surfaces and "lightweight" sub-estructuras; factor affecting decisively the costs of construction. Also, large radius of bending allows the construction of special forms, such as e.g. domes. Like all products of Makroform with long-term treatment, the new veined plates are also resistant to weathering. Also, the plates are recommended especially for external roofing of private and industrial buildings.

"The success of the plates of high thermal insulation exceeds our expectations," said Guenther Winnerl, director of the construction of Makroform segment, who already in January had predicted a strong demand for the high quality of the i-Line of Makroform plates.

Makroform products, for example, in the roofs for stadiums, railway stations and greenhouses are used in the construction sector. For the segment of the design and the luminous warnings, Makroform offers, for example, plates of plastics for the manufacture of protective screens for billboards, transit signs and indicators of price. In addition, the company's products are also used in the production of equipment for industrial use, as, for example, glasses protective, protections for machines, covered for lamps and covers.
