Tecnalia and the IFB sign an agreement of collaboration on technologies in compound materials
25 November 2013
Inside the numerous fields of application of the compound materials, some sectors like the aeronautical sector component manufacturing sector component manufacturing and automotive sector, among others many, are especially sensitised with the new technological advances. Step by step, the new materials and the processes associated open options for the products and the examples like the BMW i3 is clear.
In this line, Tecnalia and the Institüt für Flugzeugbau (IFB) of the University of Stuttgart, have signed an agreement of collaboration to promote jointly the investigation and exploitation of new technologies related with the manufacture of compound materials. Tecnalia and the IFB will join his efforts to promote actively projects of investigation, prepare a common offer integrated with solutions and services for the industrial customers, explode of conjoint form the active already developed and boost the exchange of students and young researchers to unify learning and work together in areas of mutual interest.
Tecnalia and the Institüt für Flugzeugbau of the University of Stuttgart have signed an Agreement of Collaboration to promote jointly the investigation and exploitation of new technologies related with the manufacture of compound materials
The main aim of this agreement is to build between Tecnalia and IFB a team of work highly skilled (the two organisations already have worked together of successful form in several activities and projects) oriented to the development of compound materials and to his manufacture. Both organisations, with similar strategies in this field, will investigate in new technologies of preformas of dry fibre (new technologies and textile materials, characterisation of processes of drapeado, simulation, optimisation of preformas, automation, etc.) and also in technologies related with other phases of the process of manufacture of compound OOA (technologies of warming and activation, aseguramiento of the permeability, monitoring of the process of filled and cured, thermoplastic RTM, etc.).
The Institut für Flugzeugbau is a University Institute with big knowledge and experience in the investigation, development and economic optimisation of systems of transport, including subsystems, components and material. IFB Centres his activity in the investigation, development and learning of light designs, especially processes for compound materials, including material sándwich, in cooperation and near collaboration with the industrial companies, institutes and centres of investigation.
