The Mediterranean Runner claims in the SIL 2012

The SIL 2012 has been the stage of one of the acts with greater business and institutional representation in pro of the Mediterranean Runner that have celebrated to date. Organised by Ferrmed in the frame of the International Living room of the Logistics and of the Manutención, has had the participation of the Presidents of the Government of Catalonia, Artur But, of the Generalitat Valencian, Alberto Fabra, of the Region of Murcia, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, and of them Illes Balears, José Ramón Bauzá, as well as of stood out French regions (PACA and Languedoc-Roussillon) and Italian (Liguria and Piemonte). At the same time also it has participated the secretary of State of Infrastructures and Transport of the Ministry responsible for public works of Spain, Rafael Catalá, the boss of the Division of Infrastructures and Rail Interoperability of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport of the Government of Italy, Roberto Piazza, and the mayor of Barcelona, Xavier Trias, between other stood out personalities.

The president of the Government of Catalonia, Artur But, has taken advantage of this session to remember that “it is not the first act in which we gather us the here present presidents to speak of the importance of the Mediterranean Runner” and has added that “it would be a good signal that this was the last act that celebrates with these characteristics since it will want to say that we have attained the aim”. But also it has explained that “are in the good way but fault a last push to achieve that this big project was a reality”.

By his part, the president of the Comunitat Valencian, Alberto Fabra, has remembered, that the “Mediterranean Runner is a European and Spanish priority that is above the interest that can have a territory or another”. Fabra Has concluded affirming that “the Mediterranean Runner no longer admits pauses because it is a fundamental infrastructure to generate wealth and employment”.

Ramón Luis Valcárcel, president of the Region of Murcia, and José Ramón Bauzá, president of them Illes Balears, have coincided in standing out the importance of the Mediterranean Runner and his socioeconomic impact in his area of influence since “congrega to 50% of the Spanish population and supposes the 44,8 % of the GDP of the country”.

Of the same way, this session that has served to analyse the socioeconomic impact of the Mediterranean Runner in his area of influence, has explained also with an important business representation. In this sense, the president of Foment of the Treball National, Joaquín Gay of Montellà, and the presidents of the Cameras of Trade of Barcelona (Miquel Valls), Valencia (José Vicente Morata), Murcia (Pedro García Balibrea), Almería (Diego Martínez) and Languedoc-Roussillon (René Condomines) have led the business participation.

The special delegate of the State in the Consorci of the Frank Zone of Barcelona, Jordi Cornet, the president of Ferrmed, Jacinto Followed, and the president of the Committee Organiser of the SIL, Enrique Lacalle, have been the attendants to open this interesting session that has put of relief the conjunction of the public institutions and deprived in the development of necessary infrastructures, as well as the priorización of investments in this Runner, like guarantee of success in the growth of the Spanish economy, French, Italian and of the European Union.

In the inauguration of this session Enrique Lacalle has stood out the paper of the International Living room of the Logistics and of the Manutención since “in addition to being a meeting point where do contacts and businesses, the SIL is a good box of resonance to celebrate a session like the one of the Mediterranean Runner”.
