The Mediterranean Forum of Logistics and Transport of the SIL fulfils his 10º anniversary

The Mediterranean Forum of Logistics and Transport will live this year a special edition with the celebration of his 10 anniversary. Of this form, the International Living room of the Logistics and of the Manutención (SIL), that will celebrate of the 5 to 7 June 2012 in the enclosure ferial of Big Via of Fira of Barcelona, will turn into the most stood out meeting point of the Mediterranean community of the logistics and the transport.

The SIL will receive a year more the 10º Mediterranean Forum of the Logistics and the Transport that will celebrate in an only day the Tuesday 5 June 2012. Organised by The Consorci of the Frank Zone of Barcelona, with the collaboration of the Camera of Comerç of Barcelona and of the Association of Cameras of Trade and Industry of the Mediterranean (Ascame), the present edition will have like New ‘title south Airs'. This title does reference to the changes that have produced in some south countries of the Mediterranean that have carried a greater democratic stability with the end to promote investments and generate wealth. At the same time the logistical is a key sector and one of the main motors of progress for the countries of the Mediterranean that it has to reinforce with the development of infrastructures, the investment of the private sector and the understanding of both sides of the bank of the Mediterranean.

After 9 editions the Mediterranean Forum of Logistics and the Transport has consolidated like the annual platform of the sector and a referent of debate on the subjects of interest and the new politics of the sector of the logistics and the transport in the Mediterranean. Precisely, the tenth edition, that will take place inside the SIL coinciding with the inaugural day of the Living room, will tackle the subject of the changes and the opportunities that are generating for the sector of the logistics and of the transport in the Mediterranean. It fits to remember that the sector of the transport and the logistics considers an economic pillar and a factor importantísimo for the integration of all the countries that form part of the Mediterranean region.

The inaugural session of the 10º Mediterranean Forum of Logistics and Transport will be chaired by Enrique Lacalle, President of the Committee Organiser of the SIL, Miquel Valls, president of the Camera of Trade of Barcelona, and Murat Yalcintas, president of Ascame. Another appearance stood out that will treat the tenth edition of Forum will be the Mediterranean rail sector like a sector in peak.

5ª Mediterranean Summit of Ports

The Fórum Mediterranean of the Logistics and the Transport will receive the fifth Mediterranean Summit of Ports that will take place the Tuesday 7 June in the afternoon. This fifth edition, that will develop in three sessions, will treat like main subjects the technological solutions of the Mediterranean Ports of the morning and the relation of the ports with the sustainable transport or the ‘Green Transport'.

Coinciding with the 10º Anniversary of the Mediterranean Forum of Logistics and Transport, that will celebrate of 5 June, the SIL 2012 will receive a series of business meetings that will put in contact to different pertinent companies of all the world, especially of the Mediterranean and Latin America, to boost the contacts and the businesses.

The fourteenth edition of the International Living room of the Logistics and of the Manutención (SIL 2012) has realised the III Barometer Logistical Circle SIL where analyses the sector of the logistics. In this study has had the collaboration of 711 directors of Spanish logistics that have participating by his condition of members of the Logistical Circle of the SIL 2012. The profile of the sector of activity of the different directors or responsible of logistics that have participated in this III Barometer Logistical Circle SIL is the following:

Between the distinct questions to which have given answer these directors of Logistics, fits to stand out the appearances that more value to the hour to subcontract a logistical service, the logistical activities that are used to to subcontract, his main logistical worries, the degree of investment that realise in environingingmental practices or the qualities that more value to the hour to hire to a professional of the sector of the logistics.

The quality and the saving, as already sucedía in 2011, keep on being the most valued appearances by the directors of logistics to the hour to subcontract a logistical service.

The quality is the most valued appearance by the managers of the logistics of the main companies of Spain to the hour to subcontract to a logistical provider with a 69,8 %. Anyway, this figure descends of significant form with regard to the data collected in 2011, where reached the 77,2 %. Of equal way, the saving that can obtain with the outsourcing of a logistical service (61%) keeps on being one of the most valued appearances, winning strength regarding the previous year (56,4 %).

Others of the appearances that value the directors of logistics to the hour to subcontract logistical services are the flexibility (49,1%), the experience and the confidence in the provider (43,4%), the specialisation and the rapidity in the provision of services (both appearances with 14,5%) and the business optimisation (9,4%). They close this section the RR HH and the learning with 3,8%.

Between the logistical activities more subcontracted stands out one above all: the transport. 88,1% of the 711 directors of logistics that have participated in the III Barometer Logistical Circle SIL 2012 affirms that it subcontracts the services of the transport of his company. This percentage is almost a greater point to the registered in 2011, that went of 87,3%. The transport is the indisputable leader of this category since it situates to big distance of the second activity more externalizada that it is the distribution with 39%. Although it keeps of form holgada in the second position, the distribution suffers an important descent with regard to the Barometer of 2011, where registered 44,9%.

In third place of the logistical activities more subcontracted find the management of stock with 20,8%. The manutención, that the past year occupied the fourth place of this ranking, drop until the fifth position with 10,7% being surpassed by the container and the packaging with 16,3%. They complete the ranking of main logistical activities externalizadas by the companies the automation of systems (10,1%), production (6,9%), shopping (3,1%) and others, as it can be no externalizar any activity, RR HH or manipulation (1,2%).

Another of the conclusions that can extract of the III Barometer Logistical Circle SIL 2012 is that the directors of logistics of the Spanish companies value enough to the hour to hire a logistical activity that the company that offers these activities have of a certificate of quality or code of best practices. In this sense 73,8% demands to his providers that have of certificates of quality and codes of best practices, by 26,2% that does not take it into account. Anyway, these data were more stressed the past year when 83,2% valued like important that a company possess a certificate of quality to the hour to hire a logistical activity. Therefore this figure diminished in almost 10%.

The main logistical worry of the directors of logistics that have participated in this III Barometer of the Logistical Circle is the service and the quality in 18,4% of the cases. The efficiency and the optimisation of costs and stocks, that arrived to be the greater logistical worry in 2010, keeps second with 18,1%. Another logistical worry that grows of important form this year is the rapidity, puntualidad and the commitment that situates in third place with 17%. They follow him the costs (14,3%), the communication and the information (6,7%), the planning (5,7%), the innovation (4,7%), the evolution of the sector of the transport (3,9%) and the sustainability (3,7%), amongst other.

Fits to stand out that derivative worries of the current economic crisis as they can be the uncertainty of the current situation or the morosidad do not occupy places stood out of this ranking to weigh that they register a very light increase with regard to the study of the past year. In this sense, 2,3% manifest to be concerned by the current uncertainty (in 2011 were 1,7%) and 1% by the morosidad (in 2011 were 0,8%).

To the hour to hire to a logistical professional, the directors of Logistics of the Spanish companies value above all else the experience of the candidate (40,8%). As it gives off of the III Barometer Logistical Circle SIL 2012, also have very in account the learning (22,1%) or the skills to work in team of the candidate (19,9%).

An appearance that grows of important form with regard to the study of the past year is the knowledge of languages and computer with 8,1% (in 2011 was of 5,8%). Appearances like the recommendation of the candidate by part of a known or professional of the sector (6,6%), or the psychotechnical profile (2,5%) although they also are important have less weight in the contracting of a logistical professional.

The last appearance analysed in the III Barometer Logistical Circle SIL 2012 has been the degree of implication of the companies with the environingingmental practices. 97,3% of the companies polled invests in environingingmental practices, of them 76,2% affirms to be enough or very sensitised with this cause. These data do not experience any significant exchange rate with regard to the Barometer Logistical Circle of the past year.

The 37,4 % of the companies analysed affirm to invest a lot of resources in the environingingmental practices, whereas a 38'8 % ensures to devote quite a lot of resources. By the contrary, 21,1% says his company invests little in these practices and 2,7% affirms that his company does not devote any type of resource in this terrain.
