The Foundation Icil visit the warehouse of Carrefour in the ZAL of Barcelona

The Foundation Icil organised the Thursday 29 February a visit to the installations that the Group Carrefour has in the Zone of Logistical Activities of Barcelona, ZAL II, and that are managed by the logistical operator DHL Supply Chain. From this centre, of 43.000 square metres of surface built, the Group Carrefour resupply all the commercial surfaces and hypermarkets that has in Catalonia and Balearic.

The warehouse of Carrefour in the ZAL Prat of Barcelona is strategic for the Group since from this centre resupplies to 73 commercial surfaces between hypermarkets, mini-hypermarkets, markets and trades exprés.

DHL Supply Chain Is the partner logistical of the Group Carrefour in Catalonia and Balearic and from the installations in the ZAL the operator manages for Carrefour all the supply of PGC (Product of Big alimentary Consumption) and of DPH (Droguería, Perfumery, Hygienic and others).

The installations have two areas of storage separated: a main ship for products to temperature acclimatise that it also has of a specific area for electronic product, and a buffer of 5.000 square metres for campaigns mostly of toys, that is annex to the main ship.

The main warehouse has of 64 docks and 232 beaches, whereas the auxiliary ship has 23 docks and 32 beaches. With regard to the systems of control, the computer system by radius frequency is specific of Carrefour, whereas the system of manipulation is of Infolog and works by means of picking by voice for the manufacturing of the flow estocado.

In the operations of taut flow, since there is not sotck, the commodities prepare in the same day that recepcionan and send to the centres the next day. The average of movements in taut flow realised through the sorter sorter is of some 58.000 daily movements.
