Jungheinrich and MGL Metro Group Logistics develop sustained logistics solutions
on June 3, 2011
In collaboration with the society MGL Metro Group Logistics, Jungheinrich encourages the development of technology in the logistics sector. Thus, ecological Jungheinrich trucks trucks ensures the impeccable functioning logistics processes in the new logistics center of fish of the MGL Metro Group Logistics in Groß-Gerau (Germany). Both companies spot checked the efficient use of wind energy.
The processes in this center of the MGL Metro Group Logistics not only turn out to be particularly efficient but also ecological. The building was built last year was awarded the "seal of quality German to the sustained construction". Jungheinrich and MGL there checked the efficient use of wind power during the service of the trucks trucks. The stream to load the trucks powered by battery is generated directly in the Centre in a very modern wind plant. The type of vertical installation installed in Groß-Gerau (Hesse, Germany) generates approx. 9,000 current kilowatt hours per year.
"Since the wind plant can generate running 24 hours a day, an efficient use of the technology requires a sufficient number of accumulators of energy", says Peter Kaleck, director of management processes and technology of the MGL Metro Group Logistics. And thanks to the large number of trucks powered by battery operating in the plant there is the capacity of means of accumulation.
"The State of charge of the batteries can be consulted at any time through the use of a controller's battery", explained Gerrit Driessen, the Department of sales of Jungheinrich, which occupies a prominent position in this project. The controller is placed in the battery and is able to monitor their status on a permanent basis.
In addition, in the future also be optimised management of batteries.
