The 2011 SIL also boasts a wide range of companies in the sector of new technologies with a specific area for this sector (SIL Tech). Andsoft, JSV Informàtica i Comunicacions, Teleroute, TimoCom Soft und Hardware GmbH or Toolsgroup are some of the companies in the sector of new technologies that will participate in it through the numerous forms of participation which offers the world the international logistics and maintenance.

In the infrastructure sector also has a strong representation with the participation of important companies as in the case of Abertis logistics or Comsa Emte. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas Real Estate & Prologis, lead the involvement of companies in the inmologístico sector.

Finally, it should be noted that numerous logistical areas around the world attend SIL 2011 to present their respective offers. In this respect, it emphasizes the participation of CCI Marseille Provence, Compagnie Nationel du Rhône, Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), Aquitaine-Euskadi logistics platform (PLAE) or Provence Promotion.

The SIL hosts the largest programme of conferences in the sector with the celebration of the SIL Logistics Directors Symposium and the 9th Forum Mediterranean logistics and transport. In this sense, all sectors as part of the logistics chain have their session within SIL Logistics Directors Symposium host: the 7th day of the railway; the 6th day of materials handling and storage; the 5th SIL Auto; the 4th Supply Chain Outsourcing Forum (SCOF); the 3rd day of information systems for logistics; the SIL 2nd Food; the SIL 2nd Pharma & Health; SIL E - commerce (new SIL 2011); the SIL Chemical (new SIL 2011).

The SIL Logistics Directors Symposium opens on Tuesday, 7 June with the holding of the second edition of the SIL Food, with the sponsorship of CHEP. This day dedicated to the food logistics is as central theme the great distribution efficiencies.

Wednesday 8 June, within the framework of the SIL Logistics Directors Symposium takes place 5th SIL Auto, day dedicated to the automotive sector which has the support of the Spanish Association of manufacturers of cars and trucks (Anfac)under the title 'the improvement and evolution of modes of transport to be more effective'.

The day on Wednesday is also completed with the celebration of the 4th Supply Chain Outsourcing Forum (SCOF) and the 3rd day of information systems for the logistics. Both have the collaboration of IDOM Consulting. The 4th Supply Chain Outsourcing Forum is entitled ' managing contacts of outsourcing: strategies for continuous improvement '. For its part, the 3rd day of information systems for the logistics, with the sponsorship of the Tools Group, will present innovative ideas for integrated supply chains.

On 9 June Thursday is the day of greater activity in the SIL Logistics Directors Symposium with the celebration of SIL E - commerce, the SIL Chemical, the 7th day of the railway and the 6th day of maintenance and storage. Logistics as a critical factor in the e-commerce is the central theme of SIL E - commerce, sponsored by Correos, while logistical excellence in the chemical industry is the SIL Chemical, day sponsored by DSV.

The 7th day of the railway discusses emerging trends in the EU in the combined road and sea transport. For its part, the 6th day of maintenance and storage, sponsored by SSI Schäfer, is entitled ' automatic warehouses: how, when and how?'.

The second edition of the SIL Pharma & Health serves to close the SIL Logistics Directors Symposium on Friday, June 10. The SIL 2nd Pharma & Health is sponsored by CHEP and addresses the issue of logistics as a central axis in the pharmaceutical and health competitiveness.

• 2Nd SIL Pharma & Health: 'The logistics as the central axis in the pharmaceutical and health competitiveness'

The SIL hosts a year over the Mediterranean Forum for logistics and transport which celebrates its 9th Edition in a single day Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Organised by El Consorci of the Franca area of Barcelona with the collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona and of the Association of Chambers of Commerce and industry of the Mediterranean (Ascame), this Edition, which is entitled 'Paving the way'with the sponsorship of the Port of Barcelona, the Spanish Institute of foreign trade (ICEX) and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

After eight editions the Mediterranean Forum of logistics and transport, it has become the annual platform for the sector and a reference for discussion of topics of interest and new policies in the field of logistics and transport in the Mediterranean. Precisely, the ninth edition, that takes place within the SIL coinciding with the opening day of the show, discusses the Outlook for the sector of transport and logistics in the Mediterranean and the emergence of the rail sector Mediterranean passing of the transport of goods to the high-speed.

The 9 th Mediterranean Forum of logistics and transport has the participation of the major political and business personalities of the sector. In this sense they have confirmed their participation leading authorities as it is the case of Yaarob Bader, Minister for transport of Syria; Philipe of Fontaine Vive, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB); Mehmet Yigit Alpogan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Union for the Mediterranean; Joan Amorós, Secretary General of Ferrmed, or Christian Schang, Director Adjunto Ingeniería Systra, among others. In addition, the inaugural meeting of the Mediterranean Forum 9th of logistics and transport is chaired by Enrique Lacalle, President of the Organizing Committee of the SIL, Miquel Valls, President of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, and Murat Yalcintas, President of Ascame.

In addition, the Mediterranean logistics and Transport Forum welcomes the fourth Mediterranean ports Summit on Tuesday, 7 June in the afternoon. This Fourth Edition takes place in two sessions. The first meeting openly discusses models of port authorities in the sector of transport infrastructures Mediterranean, including the opportunities and challenges from the views of Governments, operators and investors.

The second meeting, for its part, discusses innovation in the transport sector, as well as technology, innovations and cutting edge solutions to carry out port operations.
