The logistical momentum increases business expectations in the Mediterranean

The 6th Forum Mediterranean logistics and transport has put an end to the two anticipated days for this edition of the Sil and which began on 3 June with the inauguration in charge of Enrique Lacalle, President of the Organizing Committee of the Hall. Participants, prominent representatives of the two shores of the Mediterranean, made special emphasis on the need to take advantage of interesting opportunities for progress in the region. For its part, Lacalle said the intensity of the cooperation with Morocco.
During the inauguration of the Forum addressed the priorities of the countries of the Mediterranean with a view to 2010, when the Euro-Mediterranean free trade area will enter into force. The rapporteurs agreed on the need to strengthen the Mediterranean transport networks and the competitiveness of the ports.
Subsequently, they addressed the priority objectives of the countries of the Mediterranean with a view to 2010, addressing aspects such as integration projects such as Marco Polo and the Euromed Transport more, as well as the advantages of developing, managing and controlling a common space, the Mediterranean, as a competitive agent to the new challenges posed by globalization.
Turkey, guest country of the 6th Forum, focused attention and debate during the second plenary session, which were presented investment opportunities of the Spanish and European companies in the Turkish maritime logistics sector in the coming years.
During the second day of the Forum it has held the Mediterranean Summit of ports, which have involved Jordi Valls, President of the Port of Barcelona, next to authorities as Ibrahim Seddik, President of the port authority of Port Said, Kellil FaiçalPresident Director of Sogeport, and Mateu Turró, Associate Director of the European Investment Bank. The different exhibitions, divided into two blocks of content, have focused interest in different investment plans that are developing the various Meda countries, as well as contributions to intermodality of its port infrastructure, maritime safety and the environment.
