Inser Robotics provides a robotic system of drill of plastic moulds
The system consists an anthropomorphic robot with six axes Panasonic VR-008, a system of CAD-CAM-CAE DTPS of Panasonic, a self-supporting frame with two workstations, system of automatic change of tool and EC approved securities.
The installation works in an unattended manner, because each piece incorporates an average of 3,000 drills and the intervention of the operator is not needed for loading and unloading of parts. A requirement important to take into account wing time to tackle the project was that the drills should be perpendicular to the surface of the piece or at a certain angle.
The time spent on the task of programming through the "teaching" of the robot would be very high, so it was necessary to reduce software this time. Finally the software known as Desktop Programming & Simulation System was used. To do so on the basis of the model in 3D of the piece is done programming assisted with the DTPS software from Panasonic which allows guiding the tool perpendicular to the surface as well repeat drilling patterns easily, doing the robot to behave similarly to a machine tool but with a cost and greater flexibility (six axes).
