Estos resultados muestran que, en primer lugar, los contenidos en E. coli presentes en los agregados flotantes son notablemente inferiores a 250 UFC/100 ml, por lo que el agua que contiene los agregados flotantes recibiría la calificación como agua de baño de “excelente”, según el RD 1341/2007, sobre la gestión de la calidad de las aguas de baño. La única excepción se encuentra en una muestra de agregados flotantes tomada en el mirador de Aguadulce el 25/05/2021. Tampoco se aprecia una relación aparente entre la presencia de estas bacterias y otras variables meteorológicas, ni respecto al N y P total. Por su parte, las concentraciones detectadas de estos nutrientes en las aguas son bajas (< 5 mg/l N total y <0,5 mg/ P total). Los bajos o nulos contenidos en E. coli y las bajas concentraciones de nutrientes presentes en los agregados flotantes estudiados y en las aguas circundantes sugieren que no existe relación entre la aparición de agregados flotantes y la existencia de fallos en el sistema regular basis. The only exception was a sample of floating aggregates taken at the Aguadulce Mirador on 25/05/2021. Moreover, there is no apparent relationship between the presence of these bacteria and other meteorological variables, or total N and P. Furthermore, the concentrations of these nutrients detected in the water are low (< 5 mg/l total N and < 0.5 mg/ total P). The low or zero E. coli contents and the low nutrient concentrations in the floating aggregates studied and in the surrounding waters suggest that there is no correlation between the occurrence of floating aggregates and the existence of failures in the sanitation system of Roquetas de Mar, since if such failures existed, E. coli, N and P values would be significantly higher. Moreover, characterisations of the mineralogical composition of the sediment extracted from the floating aggregates (Table 3 and Figure 3), once separated from its liquid phase by centrifugation, show a prevalence of mineral evaporites (halite, anhydrite and gypsum) and detrital minerals (calcite, dolomite and quartz), as well as a small fraction of minerals from the clay.
