Se trata de una evolución del sistema de recogida selectiva de nuestro país a través del uso de tecnologías como internet de las cosas (iot), inteligencia artificial, reconocimiento de imágenes, tokenización o blockchain, 100% españolas. Estos contenedores inteligentes se integran en RECICLOS, el Sistema de Devolución y Recompensa (SDR) para latas y botellas de plástico de bebidas que funciona desde 2019 en España y al que ya tienen acceso 3,6 millones de personas. RECICLOS, el Sistema de Devolución y Recompensa (SDR) que ya está funcionando en 29 provincias españolas, da un paso más en su apuesta por un modelo innovador de reciclaje incentivado con el desarrollo de un aro dotado de tecnología puntera que transforma el contenedor amarillo en inteligente. Este aro, desarrollado con tecnología 100% española y pionero en el sector del reciclaje, se coloca en la boca del contenedor amarillo de la calle y permite identificar cada envase y cada usuario, y asociarlo junto a otros datos como la localización del contenedor o la frecuencia con la que el ciudadano recicla. Para ello, se basa en el uso de tecnologías como internet de las cosas (iot), inteligencia artificial, reconocimiento de imágenes, tokenización o blockchain. Estos contenedores inteligentes se incorporan al SDR RECICLOS, el sistema de reciclaje con recompensa que existe desde 2019 en España y que permite premiar el compromiso ambiental de los ciudadanos con el reciclaje de latas y botellas de plástico de bebidas mediante puntos posteriormente canjeables por incentivos sociales o ambientales. El SDR RECICLOS ya está presente en todas las comunidades autónomas, en concreto, en más de 40 localidades y, en total, al alcance de más de 3,6 millones de personas en nuestro país. Para usar este SDR, los ciudadanos tienen que registrarse en una webapp, escanear las latas o botellas que quieren reciclar y depositarlas en los contenedores amarillos con QR de los municipios que forman parte de RECICLOS, en máquinas de reciclaje (situadas en lugares como estaciones de transporte o centros comerciales) o, a partir de ahora, en los contenedores inteligentes dotados de este novedoso desarrollo tecnológico. It is positioned at the feed-in opening of the yellow street bin and can identify each container deposited and each user, and associate this information with other data such as the location of the bin or the frequency with which the citizen recycles. It is based on the use of technologies such as the internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence, image recognition, tokenisation and blockchain. These smart bins have been incorporated into the RECICLOS DRS, the incentive-based recycling system that has been in place in Spain since 2019. The system rewards citizens’ environmental commitment to recycling cans and plastic beverage bottles with points that can be exchanged for social or environmental incentives. The RECICLOS DRS is now up-and-running in 40 locations spread across all the Autonomous Communities and more than 3.6 million people in Spain currently have access to the system. To use RECICLOS, citizens have to register on a webapp, scan the cans or bottles they want to recycle and deposit them in the yellow bins with QR codes in participating municipalities, in recycling machines (located in places such as rail and bus stations or shopping centres) or, from now on, in the smart bins equipped with this innovative technology. The goal of all this is to continue to promote the recycling of these containers in a way that is simple for citizens, to enable greater monitoring and control of the waste throughout the process and to promote quality recycling that facilitates circularity. This project also lays the foundations for ongoing integration of technology into the recycling system in the future, through greater use of big data and other technologies. Sant Boi de Llobregat, a pioneering city in incentivised recycling The smart yellow bin was launched this morning in Sant Boi de Llobregat.
