Iberdrola and Siemens sign a strategic alliance for the development of the intelligent networks in Middle East

Siemens and Iberdrola have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, with the aim to form a strategic alliance to develop infrastructures of intelligent networks, especially in the energetic field, in Qatar and Middle East in his group.

“Through this important alliance, will combine our experience like technological leader in the energetic industry with the experience of one of the electrical companies more important of the world – has affirmed Jan Mrosik, CEO of the division Smart Grid of Siemens-. This gives us the opportunity to comprise, better if it fits, the needs of our customers”.

For Agustín Thin, director of Innovation, Environingingment and Quality of Iberdrola: “This alliance is an extraordinary opportunity to enter in the region technological projects of success, at the same time that contribute value added to the customers through the experience tested of two leaders in his respective sectors, as Siemens and Iberdrola”.

Between the areas in which the two companies expect to collaborate figure the promotion of pertinent power of renewable sources, like the wind and the sun, in the intelligent networks.

Besides, both companies have the intention to develop systems that balance the offer and the demand of power (management of answer of the demand). Said balance no only guarantees the stability of the network but it helps to the electrical companies to reduce the needs of generation during the beaks of demand.

Siemens and Iberdrola also plan to cooperate in the monitoring and control of the networks of distribution. In this sense, the new technologies allow an integration improved of the management of incidences. This allows to the electrical manage his networks of way more efficient and reliable.
