Aidico, the Technological Institute of the Construction participates in the European project subsidised by the VII Program Marco (FP7-ENV-2011-ECHO-Innovation). This project carries by name 'Visible LIGHT Activate PhotoCATalytic Concretise for Air pollution Treatment' (Light2CAT) and has like aim develop new additives for the concrete in basic dioxide of titanium to improve the quality of the air in the cities. This component applies in the concrete that uses in the structures of the buildings of all Europe and active with the visible or solar light purificando the air. It pretends like this extend the use of this type of concrete to the group of north countries of Europe with lower solar radiation.

In spite of the big efforts to reduce the levels of dangerous substances in the air, the legal limits established by the European Commission still are far to reach .
