Valencia investigates with nanomaterials for sectors of the packaging and packaging and construction
October 15, 2010
Within the Nanoscale project, the Valencian Itene and Aidico technological centres will share facilities and knowledge with the aim of developing production processes of new nanomaterials and materials applied to the container and packaging and construction sector. The objective of this common project, which includes also the implementation of pilot plants that will enable real testing with new nanomaterials is the take advantage of synergies between technology centres to provide a better service to the companies.
Nanotechnology is a field of applied sciences, dedicated to the study, development, control and manipulation of materials at a smaller scale than a micrometre, i.e. at the level of atoms and molecules. When manipulated the matter on a very tiny scale, evidenced by phenomena and entirely new properties. Nanotechnology has become one of the scientific disciplines of higher growth in recent years because of its enormous potential in the creation of new materials and already has been described as the future industrial.
