eDiana will optimize the energy consumption in buildings through embedded technology
January 27, 2010
This project is part of Artemisia, European Association of agents of r & d in the field of advanced research and development of embedded systems, and is led by Acciona infrastructure company and driven by Gaia, Cluster of electronics technologies Information and communication of the Basque country. The implementation of this initiative, which ends in December 2011, has a total budget of more than 17 million euros.
The project is working on the design, development and validation of new devices which operate within a single platform called eDiana. This system is composed of cells linked to other macrocell, forming a tissue in network covering all of a district or urban area, sharing energy resources. In this way, thanks to its interoperability, is achieved significantly increase efficiency and optimize the consumption, production and global energy accumulation.
eDiana will be the platform base in which to install integrated systems of embedded technology that will be implanted in the buildings. This technology will improve energy efficiency and optimise its consumption in buildings by 25%, guaranteeing savings and control in real time. In addition, will increase comfort by the user, who can manage the intensity of everyday such as light or appliance applications.
