The ERP market grew by 7% in the Basque country last year

A total of 35 companies manufacturers and developers of software for business management (ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning) with presence in the Basque Autonomous Community, participated in the study 'ERP market in the 2009 Basque country', prepared with the objective to analyze the evolution and trends of this important subsector in the Basque country its 8% of the volume of business National. The study, whose findings were presented at press conference, has been led by SPRI (Basque development agency) and the Basque Cluster of companies in electronics, computing and telecommunications (Gaia) and developed by the consulting firm IDC.

As it can be seen from the above-mentioned study in 2008 the market of ERP in the Basque country experienced a growth of 7 per cent over the previous year, reaching 33 million euros of turnover, on sale of licenses and maintenance of the current. This volume represents approximately 8% of national total, while Basque companies represent 6% of the total number of Spanish manufacturers. From this fact arises that the Basque market of ERP is a more developed than the national average.

While it is expected that sales of software to new clients descend during 2009, the maintenance of the current and the sale of new modules to them, will enable that during this period the market grow around 5%still this growth a point percentage above which are expected to experience market national (4%).
