Batimat 2009 offers course to build a more sustainable future

General delegate to professional events Îlle in Paris, Jean-Luc Margot Duclot, and the regional head of business and European policies, Hamid Kamil, tourism went ahead on 17 September the major developments and objectives of Batimat'09 in a comida-presentación. This 27th Edition of Batimat is focused on the sustainable renovation of buildings and energy efficiency, is for this reason that the fair will illustrate one-year commitment of professionals to devise the so-called 'construction of the morning'. The most important points of this concept are the energy scrap reduction, the development of sustainable energy, acoustic isolation and accessibility for people with reduced movement, as well as classics like the safety and comfort.

This year the structure which forms the French construction fair endures on seven different pillars, such as the seven modules of the fair. That is why the slogan of this year is 'Seven exhibitions in one'. In module 1, the biggest of them, we find 'Structural work' where visitors can learn about the products and materials dedicated to the renewal, insulation, waterproof, sanitation or water treatment.

In the second module, 'carpentry and joinery', is dedicated to doors, Windows, locks and their components made of aluminium, PVC, steel, wood or glass. 'Materials and tools', the third module, includes machinery in workshop, building materials, commercial vehicles, tools and safety equipment. With 27% of the exhibitors 'Finishes and decoration' welcomes all products dedicated to the packaging and installation of Interior and exterior.

Three recent modules, 'Sustainable management of buildings', 'Services' and 'Computer', complete the vast area of this construction fair that, according to its organizers, holds too smoothly the current situation of economic crisis.

It is obvious that the economic recession has been noted in the fair of the construction. For this reason, there has been a decrease of one third in the number of exhibitors at the fair. The crisis has also affected the number of visitors, as it is expected to be called not the records of the last edition. Even so, estimates of the Organization pose that visitors to the fair will be charges with more decision making capacity.

According to its organizers, the Batimat fair well against the difficulties that the crisis is on the way because it is a space not only for the exhibitors but also is a business which provides that companies and visitors can reach satisfactory agreements. According to Jean-Luc Margot Duclot, fairs do not lose camber because "they are still effective" as a broad area of business.

Yet, despite the measures taken by the French Government, he is expected that the construction sector lost between 6.5 and 7% in the next few years and for this reason will be given this year a decline both exhibitors and visitors at Batimat.

One of the main features of the fair will be the renewal of its paragraph 'Finition & Décoration' (finishes and decoration), changes of name and image, and which in future will be called Zoom. Centered in Hall 7 and with sustainable development as a common thread, is divided into three topics: Zoom Light, Zoom Color and Zoom Touch.

The first of these will focus on the lighting, by bringing together exhibitors of this sector and will also feature animations devoted to the quality of light and its energy efficiency. The second, Zoom Color, will present lectures, panel discussions and demonstrations, where professionals in the field of painting may show their latest products in the Agora. The third, Zoom Touch, take scene modules 'Matière please' (raw in some other way), submitting materials with scenery imagined by an architect and his students.

The French construction fair will be used also as the setting for several events, such as the International Congress of architects, in which several professional will use to present their projects. Other acts that will host Batimat is the presentation of Russia as guest at the fair. For this reason be organized conferences and presentations with the main active agents of the construction in this country, strengthening thus the good relationship between Batimat and the Eastern, traditionally present in the French construction fair.

Another geographic area usually present at Batimat is the countries of the Maghreb, which has well used the fair as an important opportunity for business and for the development and financing of new projects.

Batimat, in addition to being a meeting point for construction professionals, is the means to know and discover products and services that facilitate the life companies. Among them are information technology, the management of the company, hiring, utility vehicles, safety in the work, cleaning and waste treatment.

Therefore, that in the 2009 Edition, the fair will develop three key business issues: the first, 'Utility vehicles and equipment', will be a space where is intended to propose a range of consistent and attractive of this type of products to different sectors of the fair. The second, 'Materials and cleaning products', will be a meeting of exhibitors to facilitate communication to businesses, with two major themes such as 'the cleaning of premises of enterprises' and 'the cleaning works'. The third, 'Recruitment', organizes the Forum Emploi Bâtiment (construction employment Forum) with the collaboration of the Moniteur Emploi. Between 5 and 6 November, will meet for the first time companies and 8,000 youth and construction professionals who will be attending Batimat to find work.

The Spanish presence at the fair has traditionally been very wide, being the third country that the visit, after Germany and France. While Batimat is not concerned with public works, this has always been the construction fair more international, with 18 percent of foreign visitors. Of these, more than 2,000 are Spanish visitors, while another 2,000 come from Russia and the rest of Eastern. But the French market that annually attends mass to the fair, thus making their further livelihood as visitors.
