The Chairman of the group, Antonio Tavares, considered to be "glad that the European Union recently agreed new EU rules to allow imports of animal feed to the EU no more than 0.1% genetically modified material". He explains that this is due to that "otherwise, the prices of animal feed had increased even more," causing losses of hundreds of millions of euros to EU farmers.
Tavares also matched the MEP Dagmar Roth-Behrendt, on the abolition of the prohibition of non-ruminant feed if the conditions of the road map with their CA exams. "This you are calling from some time now because we want to reduce our dependence on imported soybeans", said President Tavares.
At the same time, the Secretary general of the Copa-Cogeca, Pekka Pesonen, felt that it is necessary to promote pork in the EU and beyond. "It must strengthen the position of farmers in the food chain, from the great buying power of supermarkets".
