COAG And UPA report that the official data of August reflect the closing of dairy exploitations

The agricultural organisations UPA and COAG report that the last data published by the FEGA referred to the month of August collect a significant descent in the number of graziers that realised deliveries, 994, in relation to the same month of the previous year. The figures reflect a number of deliveries of 19.001; whereas in August of the year 2011 these were of 19.995. According to the same report, the half price ponderado (euros/litre) declared by the total of buyers in Spain in the month of August of 2012 was of 0,30, 38,8% of the deliveries of milk effected during this same month paid in our country to less than 0,29 euros/litre and the 17'6% to less than 0,27 euros/litre.

To the low prices of the milk in the field, adds the espiral upward of the basic raw materials for the animal feeding. Of January to September, the price of the piensos has gone up more than 40%, tendency that hampers the economic feasibility of the wall of 22.000 exploitations of beef of milk that exist in our country and that, as they reflect the official data, are forcing to the small and average exploitations to throw the closing, as they criticise from the agricultural organisations.

After the signature of the dairy agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and the distribution, the industry, the cooperatives and a part of the production do not discern changes in the behaviour of the final links of the chain. On the one hand, they continue the abusive commercial practices promoted by the big chains of distribution, such as the utilisation of the milk like product demand or the sale to losses. To his time, there are industries that are taking advantage of the entrance in force of the forcing of the agreements-type in the sector to pose to the graziers agreements with prices that do not surpass the 0,29 euros/litre under the threat of not collecting the milk if they do not sign .

The past 3 October, in the afternoon, gathered the Committee of Follow-up of the dairy chain without the presence of UPA and COAG, that did not sign the agreement knowingly that the attitude of industry and distribution would not guarantee the set up of measures of voluntary character that served to reactivate the prices in the field. Both organisations demand to Arias Cañete that take into account the demands of all the producing sector, since it is the most adapted form to face properly the problems and orquestar solutions that redunden in worthy prices for the graziers.
