PEFC Spain will take part in Construmat 2011

PEFC Spain is supporting the international year of forests, declared by the United Nations, through the development of initiatives and awareness-raising activities about the importance of forests for human subsistence and the need to protect them. Among these activities, the presence at Construmat 2011, to be held from 16 to 21 may in Barcelona, was for the Association "a great opportunity now which in this edition the Hall includes sustainability in construction as one of its main".

With his participation in the calón, PEFC put in value so much the forestry industry, when constituting an important part of the green economy, as to the wood, the cork and the derivative products, constructive elements that possess big environingingmental qualities: scarce footprint of carbon, cycle of optimum life, renovabilidad, etc., constituting like indispensable materials for the future of the sustainable construction. In this sense, the Tuesday 17 May will sign with Green Building Council Spain an agreement of collaboration to promote the use of products certified of forestry origin in the industry of the construction, like practice of low environingingmental impact in the edificación sustainable.
