It shows it tests the resistance to the fire of a wooden window in Ensatec

The laboratory of construction Ensatec has received the technical day ‘The wooden Window in Edificación', centred in the Resistance to the Fire of this typology of closing. As I complement to the reports of the experts on the matter, proceeded to test the resistance to the fire of a wooden window in the Laboratory of the Area of Fire of Ensatec.

The evento has been organised by the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of wooden Windows and Wood-Aluminium (Show), in collaboration with the City council of Logroño, the Official School of Architects of The Rioja, the Official School of Aparejadores and Technical Architects of The Rioja and the project ‘The Tree is Life'.

“Celebrate this day is not an action baladí. Only the windows of ironinging and wood can be certified like resistant to the fire according to the valid rule. The aluminium windows and PVC have a lot of problems to fulfil the conditions that marks the rule; since the first collapses, and the second combustiona and melts ”, explained José Palaces, manager of Shows.

“Is an attainment have gathered to the manufacturers of wooden windows, to the architects, that are those who design the buildings, the Administration, represented by the Body of Firemen and, besides, a laboratory notified, as it is Ensatec”, expressesed by his part Javier Torrero, president of Shows.

The Technical Code of the Edificación is clear when referring to the external propagation of the fire: “it will limit the risk of propagation of the fire by the outside, so much in the building considered as to other buildings —commented Alfredo Spleen, technician of Prevention of Fires of the Body of Firemen of Logroño—-. The CTE demands vertical separations between buildings (medianeras) EI 120, as well as in faã§ades, between sectors or similar”.
