Valtra employs the CuproBraze technology in the manufacture of their tractors
May 20, 2009
For the manufacture of their tractors at the global level, Valtra uses technology CuproBraze, a method for joining copper fins to tubes of bronze, as well as bronze to bronze. It has been developed by the international copper Association (Ica), in cooperation with the copper industry in the early 1990s. A welding with copper is much stronger than a welded Union conventional and more resistant to fatigue, corrosion and extreme temperature changes. This technology gives "excellent results", considering that Valtra is known for the long life of their tractors in heavy uses and in extreme conditions. Another advantage over the welding with aluminium is the copper-based components can be repaired easily in the field.
In 2008, Valtra produced about 11,000 tractors, all with CuproBraze radiators. This year, the company is presenting their machines with CuproBraze heat exchanger at important fairs in machinery agriculture such as the Sima in Paris Salon and the Hannover Agritechnica fair.
