The scientist Sixto Malato creditor of the Jaime I Prize for his work on the decontamination of waters

This scientist has important publications in the field of the decontamination of waters, of the wash of plaguicidas and of the no biodegradable compounds, using for this to the solar energy, in addition to being possessor of a long scientific career international. It is by this, that the jury of the prize considered that Malato represents a “glorious example of scientific researcher with practical application in the protection of the Environment”.
Sixto Malato has worked continuously in the development of motorreactores for the industrial application of processes fotocatalíticos for the decontamination of waters with compounds no biodegradable in residual and natural waters.
Many of his works frame in projects of the European Union, as well as in the national field and in international projects. It stands out likewise, the important expansion that have tackled his investigations in these solar technologies through his collaborations with different teams and groups of the world.
