The application of new techniques in the treatment and management of the water can make savings of up to 35% in energy consumption, according to the director of r & d of Acciona water, Manuel Fariñas. During his participation in the Conference 'New projects of infrastructure of the water', Fariñas tried to eco-efficiency in water treatment plants. To this end, he showed various techniques to reduce the energy costs of the treatment plants of urban wastewater, representing 40% of the total consumption by the Spanish municipalities.
