Needs, challenges and new markets in the gestión of the water will centre ChemH20
The water is vital for the sustainability and the competitiveness of the European industry and the economy in general. The conference will stand out “the essential paper of the chemical science and of his industry in the impulse of the future evolution of the sustainable gestión of the water”, affirms Eloy García Calvo, director of Imdea-Water, doctor in Industrial Chemicals by the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and president of the Technical Committee.
The meeting has the support of the main programs and European platforms in matter of water – and4water, ChemWater, 7Program Marco, SusChem and WssTp- as well as of the Chemical Forum and Society and the Business Federation of the Chemical Industry, Feique.
To face up to the current challenges and futures, the innovation is the key. “The conference will centre in her, as well as in the conciliation of the advances in the knowledge of avant-garde with real applications”, signals Willi Meier, representative of Dechema and member of the Committee Organiser beside his colleague Thomas Track and Carlos Black, representative of Anque and chair of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid.
The Conference will develop during two days and will include in his program fear related with the water like resource: the market, the challenges, the opportunities and the future technological needs; Chemical and Chemical Technology for the cycle of the municipal and industrial water: regeneration, reuse and desalinisation; among others.
Chemicals and Water: A necessary relation
The sector of the water and the chemist have a narrow relation and together have to find “solutions to the challenges of the new integral cycle of the water, innovando, watching the quality of the waters, restoring rivers, improving the utilisation of alternative resources based in new technologies applied to the sustainable gestión of the resources hídricos in which Spain is referent”, signals Carlos Black.
And adds on the importance of the profession for the development of the sector: “The chemical industry has to cater of solutions to the environingingmental problems, with the end to reach the sustainable development”.
In Europe there are 70.000 operators in the sector of the water, that employ to 600.000 workers. His investments in infrastructures rise to 33.000 annual millions in his more than 3.500.000 km of pipes of networks of distribution, 2.500.000 km in saneamiento and more than 70.000 stations debuggers of waste water.
Europe is also a chemical power. With 29.000 chemical installations, employs 1.200.000 workers and has a volume of business of 465.000 million euros to the year. In Spain, the sector is integrated by more than 3.000 companies, that generate 11% of the GDP and more than 500.000 places of work; it is leader in investment in R&D and first in investment in protection of the environingingment. It supposes an essential element to keep the economy of the country, being the second more exporting sector (more than 50% of his production allocates to the export).
