Ainia And Aimme study alternatives of treatment to reduce contaminantes emergent in waters
In the last years, because of his high capacity of oxidation, the processes of oxidation advanced have earned leadership for presenting a big potential like treatments of purification of contaminantes that can not be reduced or deleted by means of systems of conventional treatment, mainly the biological. Many of the emergent frame inside this type of contaminantes. The project Oxagua will study the application of this class of processes by means of two types of treatments, based in the utilisation of the ozone (from ainia) and in electrochemical processes (from Aimme).

During the three years that lasts the project, will realise different works, between them: study the perception of the public sector and private relative to the problematic associated to the contaminantes emergent in waters; expand the knowledge on the technicians that are using at present for his reduction; develop and optimise medotologías of analysis multi-analytical and evaluate the application of alternatives of treatment based in the oxidation advanced.
The project Oxagua, is funded jointly by the Institute of the Average and Small Valencian Industry (Impiva), inside his program of projects in cooperation, and by the European Bottom of Regional Development (Feder), inside the Operative Program Feder of the Valencian Community (2007-2013). The final aim is to have purchased the sufficient knowledge that allow to design alternatives for the identification and treatment of contaminantes emergent in waters.

Contaminantes Emergent
The contaminantes emergent are object of study prioritario for the main organisms devoted to the protection of the public and environingingmental health, such as the World Health Organisation, the Agency for the Protection of the Environingingment of the United States, or the European Commission.
Define like contaminantes previously unknown or no recognised like such whose presence in the environingingment is not necessarily new but yes the worry by the possible consequences of the same since it knows relatively little about his presence and impact. Usually they find in the urban field (derived for example of drugs, of products of personal hygiene, by-products desinfectantes…), industrial (derived of surfactantes, additives of the petrols, etc.) and agricultural – hortofrutícola (pesticidas.). These contaminantes correspond, in the majority of the cases, to contaminantes no regulated, that can be candidates to future regulation, depending on investigations on his potential effects in the health and the environingingment on a long-term basis.
In the last years, the development of new and more sensitive methods of analysis has allowed to alert of the presence of these contaminantes in sources of supply of water, groundwaters and even in drinkable water. Many of these contaminantes are resistant to the conventional treatments of purification and are presents so much in waste water as debugged.
