Inspection of glasses: innovative system of inspection of glasses using cameras of Allied Vision Technologies
14 October 2013
As in any industry of production in mass, the systems of inspection and control of quality automated can mean a qualitative increase of the productivity. Meanwhile, the inspection of glasses of glass has his own challenges by the nature of the material.
The inspection in glasses is very challenging by the physical properties and optics of the glass: it is transparent, reflective and refracta the light, arriving to act like an optics according to his format. These characteristics, do that it was very difficult to capture images that can be processed by the software of detection of defects. In addition to the fragility of the pieces, that require a very accurate manipulation.
To solve this problem, the Paşabahçe chose the system of inspection Or2KS created by the company And3TAM specifically for the inspection of glasses of glass.
The Or2KS is a complete autonomous system of inspection created to execute the control of quality in glasses of glass, directly in the line of production, without diminishing the speed of the process of manufacture. The system can inspect 4 pieces by second and even more, depending on the individual configuration, guaranteeing the high level of the production.
The system can detect a big variety of failures, such like breaks, ondulaciones in the edges, grooves and rebabas in pieces of distinct formats and sizes.
The first step is the lateral inspection, that uses 4 cameras Guppy PRO F-201B of Allied Vision Technologies, two in the left side and two in the right side of the strip transportadora. The cameras are instrumented with big optical telecéntricas. To keep the system the most compact possible, each camera is positioned vertically on mirrors positioned in an angle of 45º. Each camera visualises like minimum an angle of 90º of the piece, like this then , the combination of the 4 images, guarantees the capture of the whole of the piece for his inspection.
The following control is focused to the inspection of the top and inferior of the piece. For this have used two cameras Stingray F-145B of AVT positioned one in the top of the strip and another in the inferior part, that capture the edge and the base of the glasses, inspecting the geometry and the possible failures.
After leaving the cabin of inspection, the glasses go through a system that expels of the strip transportadora the pieces with defects previously detected by the system.
