Announced at Emo 2007 12 months ago, the European programme of centres for technical training of Haas (HTEC) is in date to meet its goals of the first year with a total of 9 official Haas CNC centres and other 9 openings scheduled for before the end of the 2008including Russia, Belarus, Sweden and Portugal. In 2009 the company will oversee at least other 30 or 35 HTEC in various countries of Europe, including Ukraine, Spain, Lithuania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and France. All will be founded and managed by local distributors of Haas, known as Haas (Haas Factory outlet HFO) factory stores.
The European HTEC program was launched to counter what Haas regards as one of the greatest threats to sustainable economic development of the continent: the shortage of young motivated people with talent and skills of CNC machining with access to the sector of precision engineering.
In addition to providing machine tool CNC and CNC, Haas simulators also help schools to renovate and modernize the classes and workshops. The company has proven that when taught in a clean, high-tech and well equipped training centre, young people, as well as their parents and local employers, quickly changes his idea about making.
Together with its partners in programme, Keller, MasterCam, Esprit, Renishaw, Sandvik Coromant, Schunk, Blaser, Urma and Chick, Haas is scheduled to open 200 HTEC in Europe in five years.
