Automation of machines there is a need to integrate movement and control of trayec-periods, control servos and Exchange data with visualization and I/o. So far this type of integration has created difficulties due to the fact that there were no systems with this level of integration.

Generic Motion Control of B & R integrates movement and trajectory, visualization and management of I/o control. In particular the trajectory with functionality of CNC control is integrated part of the whole system of automation, which can be configured with a single software tool.
Functions specific to the machine they are not added to the standard, they are integrated into the project through specific modules gaining the maximum of flexibility.
A complete platform
What is it makes it so versatile? On the one hand the real-time operating system create the environment necessary for the tasks of positioning precision. 400 CNC cycle times allow to reach details in the submicron range. On the other hand generated position requirements are transferred to the servocontrolador without latency through Ethernet Powerlink. Finally I/o points are added to the system extremely flexible.
Predefined display components may also be used for the creation of complex functions of the machine. In addition to the traditional components for the parameterization, configuration, movement and operations of the program, these also include tools for simulation, historical and diagnóscos.
Generic Motion Control integrates the world of robotics, CNC, the motion (axes synchronized with cams) in a homogeneous system. Knowledge to complex control of trajectory of robots are applied to the machine tool. Up control of anthropomorphic robots is possible thanks to the sophisticated CNC control in 3D. The integration of PLC and I/o management functions added more advantages when developing automation system.
Another advantage: industrial computers, powerful PLC, servocontroladores, I/o and Ethernet-based communication modules come from a single source, developed and produced by B & R. This means technology of totally integrated automation which is programmed and configured through a single software for development engineers.
The SoftCNC of B & R differs from conventional systems in several respects and integrates several components in a system. The softCNC is embedded in the operating system in real time of the PLC. This allows to solve the most complex automation tasks.

The SoftCNC has a wide range of functions. Parts of program and procedures of movement are scheduled according to the standard DIN 66025.
The division between subtasks and major programme allows a clear management of NC programs.
Functions of aid were also added to allow the use of elements typical of a high level language like for example loops and conditional.
The exchange of data with the PLC is carried out through a powerful interface. Several functions allow access in real time to the executing CNC program.
Data such as the radius of the tool or even the limits of one trajectories can be modified on the fly and some data are available synchronized with the trajectory.
