The municipality of Ogíjares is a pioneer in the recycling of vegetable waste
December 3, 2010.
The project began with a talk to the residents of the municipality in which the person in charge of the action, the citizen Ruben Rodriguez, explained the benefits of composting. On the one hand, this technique reduces the weight of the waste that are deposited in the trash by 50%. At the same time, these waste back to the cycle of life converted into compost and can be used by residents as compost, which also reduces fertilizer costs and, therefore, the contamination.
Then the project will run through several monthly 'visitas-talleres' of concerned citizens to the clean point of Ogíjares to carry the remains green, check the composting process and past 4-6 months, extract the result, i.e. the compost.
