Brightwater FLI, present in Smagua 2008, seeks to reduce the high energy impact in the treatment of water and wastewater
March 19, 2008
The various powers and operations that applies a water and wastewater treatment plant add a kilowatt demand which has a dramatic impact on the energy cost, especially if you consider that their life is at least 20 years. Looking for energy saving of these plants, since 15 years Brightwater FLI investigates such as reducing the installed and operational costs when it is in the design stage and in this desire has developed two products with low-cost technology using floating plastic housings: Biobead BAFF and Biomax HSAF.
These products are used in the processes of growth attached, used an area appropriate to the retention of biomass, which offers stability in the process when abnormal conditions occur.
The Biobead (filters biological Sumergidos Aireados) BAFF system works as a filter for solids and bacteria treatment support. It is a system that allows to retain high concentrations of micro-organisms obtaining excellent standards of final effluents. The advantages of this process have led to 50 plants of BAFF Biobead in the United Kingdom have put in place. Biomax support is a bit larger than the BAFF Biobead and one of its advantages is the simplicity of its design and easy to manage the retention capacity of solids.
Support of floating plastic: up Biomax of 14 mm and 4 mm Biobead, down both show rough surfaces to improve the adhesión of biomass.
The physical size of Biomax occurs in the filter hybrid submerged aerated (HSAF), which offers many of the advantages of the BAFF system at the time that can be used for smaller applications and more diverse, as it may be a temporary treatment, but its main feature is that it is able to tolerate higher loads of solids and biological materials without occurring binding.
Brightwater FLI uses floating plastic media because they do not react with chemical products, such as salts of iron that are added to the Elimination of matches, allowing comply with strict regulations regarding the level of iron removing and iron with the solids.
To the need to preserve the environment, Brightwater manufactures in a 100 per cent all its products with recycled plastic material, which ensures the recycling of the plant at the end of its useful life of more than 40 years.
