Ferromatik Milacron: electrical injectors with unit for rapid injection and new software at Equiplast 2005
The clamping force is not always the most important value in what refers to the size. Depending on the application, the performance of the injection unit can be the deciding factor for the success of that particular application. The pieces of thin-walled with long flow paths are, especially, a type of pieces very demanding with the performance and accuracy of the injection unit if you want to make sure their high value and quality.
Thin-walled parts have short cooling times and therefore require a rapid plasticizing the material. Equally rapid must be the injection of the material to achieve a correct filling of the cavity that is not affected by the process of cooling of the previous cycle. With the Elektra Evolution 110 Ferromatik shows that high yields and speeds are not exclusive domains of the hydraulic machines.
This European pioneer in the field of the fully-electric injectors with this machine demonstrates the potential of the performance that the current electric machines can offer.
Ferromatik has also identified the constancy of the weight of each injected as a key factor in the manufacture of precision parts. Jörg Dassow, director of applications, notes that "the fully electric machines offer starting a precision mechanical, but with our new solution, we give a solution unmatched in the closing of the valve antirretorno". The solution provided by Ferromatik is based on a software. The process uses fact antirretorno closure of the valve unit injection as a point in the process at the time, after which the route of the flow of injection as a relative path is calculated. The corresponding injection process is then regulated by special software. The result is a weight of the injected constant that improves the quality of the parts and the possibility of closer tolerances.
This solution has been named as Hi PM ("high precision molding").
