Operator control has remained simple, so that any experienced tornero can use it without any specific learning needs of CNC. The programming of codes (g), or any change in the mode of operation is not necessary. The control system has been planned following the model of a conventional mechanical vise: the main steps in the machining can be automated. QuickTurn also allows a completely manual normal operation, using two electronic flyers in the HMI. The operator defines the limits of the movement in the X or Z axes through simple introductions on the touch screen.
An extensive selection of semi-automatic cycles, for example for grinding external and internal grinding, machining rear front, turning of cones and threading, is available to the operator of the lathe for machining of complex contours that require two axes interpolation. Before machining, the operator selects the desired cycle and enter dimensions. It moved the tool by means of two electronic flyers until it is next to the piece. Then active cycle progress. The Court runs and the axes return to the starting point. The operator must now perform a forward movement through the steering wheel of the X axis and again activate cycle progress to implement the following machining process. Once the cutting depth has been introduced the complete cycle is processed automatically.
The use of clear icons and interactive questions guide the operator during the introduction of the data. Masks ensure to introduce only the really necessary data. Control is handled exclusively through the touch screen. QuickTurn is, thus, a control that combines the control of a conventional lathe and the precision and flexibility of a CNC machine operator
